Meta charges per delivered message, by category and by the recipient's country. For Spanish numbers, as of October 2026, a marketing message costs €0.0585 and a utility, authentication or service message €0.0166. The first 1,000 service messages per number each month are free. These are the EUR rates from Meta's price list in force since 1 October 2026. Meta only changes prices on the first day of a quarter, so the next possible change is 1 January 2027. Customers on foreign numbers, common on the Costa Blanca, are billed at their own country's rate.
What it does not include
- Volume discounts. Utility and authentication get cheaper in tiers above 100,000 and 300,000 messages a month; the calculator uses the base rate, which is what almost any small business pays.
- The free window from ads. Conversations that start from a click-to-WhatsApp ad get a free window of up to 7 days.
- The other costs of a chatbot. The AI model, hosting, build and maintenance come on top: we break them down in What an AI chatbot really costs.
- Taxes and any reseller's fees, if you sign up through a provider.
